Democrat John Bel Edwards won re-election in Louisiana in Saturday night’s election, despite a national GOP effort to unseat him. President Donald Trump, who easily won the state in 2016, visited the state twice in the final ten days of the race to help Republican Eddie Rispone, drawing thousands of supporters to his rallies.
